New music: Noah Francis Johnson- Try

Welsh born soul-folk artist, Noah Francis Johnson, released a new song titled Try. The talented and handsome (did I say that out to loud) singer wrote his new single that was inspired by his father, and brought the lyrics to life with his robust melodic voice. Noah stated:

"I remember my mother in a house of all men, she would often say, we took her for granted. I wrote this song from my father's total point of view. I believe these are the words he would say if he could"!

Soulcase Sunday: #1 Gerald Levert song is... (and a bonus song)

Courtesy of Last.fm

Thank you for visiting Soul You Know for this weekly segment! I can say I took much delight in this week's artist Gerald Levert! As a fellow Cancerian (his born day is July 16),  I am honored to feature his music on my blog! I have been rocking with Gerald since he had a Jerri Curl singing "Cassanova" (classic song) with the Levert's!

His music and legacy should not be forgotten as he inspired many artists and sung about relatable situations.  One thing I loved Gerald for is his honesty! Just listen to his music and he is giving you real life situations and the answers to them! If you want to get an in-depth look into Gerald's life, I highly advise you to check out his TV One Unsung episode! I learned more about the man who dedicated so much to his profession for over 20 years, than prior watching this insightful episode!

My favorite song is below, scroll down tell me what you think by leaving your comments below! Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Soulcase Sunday: Gerald Levert #2- Thinkin' bout it

2. Thinkin' Bout It

"Tell me why..Oh why" I love this song... Gerald sang on this song! "Thinkin' Bout It" is from Gerald's 1998 album Love and Consequences. The beat, lyrics and Gerald's voice completes this song for me! The song describes a hurting man whom woman is a philanderer and and the man she is cheating with are also sleeping with her friend (a mess)!

Soulcase Sunday: Gerald Levert- #3 Funny

3. Funny
This groove and soulful track from Gerald from his 2002 album the G spot. The track discuss how he has been down and out but once he got a call from his "angel" his day got brighter! Upon my research for the video, I did not realize until now that Karin Stephens plays his love interest in this very "catchy" video! Check out one of my favorite songs from Gerald, Funny.

Soulcase Sunday: Gerald Levert- #4 Made to love ya

4. Made To Love Ya
This is a wedding song for the 2000's! From his 2001 album Gerald's World, "Made to Love Ya" is a what love is about! The song describes his further wife and how regardless of his imperfections he knew she was the one! Check out this soulful song above, and don't forget to leave you comments below!
